Plenette Pierson assured Good Angels Kosice got off to a winning start with Week One MVP honours

Plenette Pierson has more reason to smile after Good Angels Kosice began the EuroLeague Women season on a winning note, picking up Week One MVP honours.

Staying on the floor for almost the entirety of her team's clash against league newcomers Kayseri Kaski spor, the American power foward amassed 33 points, 12 boards and two assists as Good Angels pulled away in the final frame to wrap up the 77-69 victory.

Another player to star in a winning effort was Uniqa Euroleasing Sopron guard Zsofia Fegyverneky, scoring 25 points as the Hungarian club saw off BK Imos Brno 73-67.

Rounding out the top three with an efficiency of 29 - amassing 17 points and nine rebounds in just 18 minutes of playing time - was Candace Parker who led UMMC Ekaterinburg in a 101-43 opening week win over Uni Gyor.
