Angel McCoughtry starred for Fenerbahce with 22 points and 12 rebounds
Turning Point: It was still a one-shot game with just under a minute to play and with Bourges in possession. But, a steal by Birsel Vardarli and then an assist for a fast-break score by Anastasiya Verameyenka proved to be absolutely crucial as Fenerbahce finished with the last eight points of the game. Stats Don't Lie: Fenerbahce restricted Celine Dumerc to a single basket in the entire game and Bourges were also hamstrung by their inability to convert from the perimeter, shooting only 2-of-14. Game Hero: Angel McCoughtry had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, with Verameyenka playing an efficient cameo with nine points, three rebounds, two steals and a block.
The next EuroLeague Women champion will be from the city of Istanbul after Fenerbahce beat Tango Bourges 59-50 to set up a final showdown against their arch rivals from across the Bosphorus.
In what will be the first ever all-Turkish title game, Fenerbahce will tussle with Galatasaray for the second time at the Final Eight after taking a narrow group win during the first phase of the competition.
It wasn't exactly a slick performance from Fenerbahce, but they again showed the kind of resilience required to dig out yet another victory and secure back-to-back final appearances.
"We are happy we won and it was a tough game with the winning margin of nine points not reflecting how much of a fight it was," said Agnieszka Bibrzycka.
"It was the same kind of scenario for us as in previous games where we had to fight for 40 minutes.
"We missed a lot of shots but as a team, we stayed together and did our best work at the key moments which makes us really proud."
Fenerbahce found some rhythm quickly as Bibrzycka converted from deep to double the tally of the French champions at 18-9 and make the early running.
However, the trademark Bourges defence belatedly kicked into gear and eventually disrupted the early Fenerbahce flow as they posted a 15-5 tear to take the lead through Diandra Tchatchouang.
Despite the best efforts of both teams, neither was able to make a decisive break and it ultimately boiled down to crunch time when the powerful finishing run of Fenerbahce got them safely over the line.
It meant Dumerc and Co. suffered a second semi-final loss in a row on the same court.
Speaking to media following the game, the Bourge playmaker explained, "We are disappointed because we felt we were close, but we missed some of the details that can turn a game.
"It's really frustrating for us but we are not ashamed and we fought very hard."
