Wisla Can-Pack held off a late UE Sopron surge to claim a 67-61 road win in EuroLeague Women Group B on Wednesday.

The visitors took control of a tight game in the third quarter thanks to dominant play down low from American center Jantel Lavender, who finished with a game-high 24 points.

Sopron battled back in the final quarter, outscoring Wisla 19-7 - but they had left themselves too much to do and remain at 1-2 while Wisla move to 2-2.

There was little to choose between the teams in a back-and-forth first quarter but Wisla edged it 15-13 after Lavender and Katarzyna Krezel connected on back-to-back baskets.

This pattern continued into the second period. But another strong finish from the visitors gave them a 36-30 advantage as Cristina Ouvina hit a three-pointer and Zane Tamane completed an and-one.

The game went Wisla's way in the third quarter as they outscored the hosts 24-12.

Lavender poured in 10 points in the third period as she got to the basket at will - as Wisla won 36-14 on points in the paint.

Katarina Tetemondova scored all of her 10 points in the final period as Sopron fought back but Wisla clung on.
