As another very busy year draws to a close, we would like to take the opportunity to give you an update of FIBA Europe’s events and activities since moving to the new offices in February of 2003.

Betancor Appointed FIBA Europe Referee Coordinator

Spanish international referee Miguel Betancor has accepted a position within FIBA Europe as Referee Coordinator. The newly created Referees department will concentrate on the development and education of all European FIBA Referees.

FIBA Europe Appoints New Marketing Manager

FIBA Europe made a new addition to its staff recently, when former international player Yannick Souvré joined the organisation as Marketing Manager.

European Championship Draw Seedings Announced

The road to the 2005 European Championships for Men and Women begins at 12:00, on 13th December, 2003 in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, when the draws for the Qualifying Rounds will take place.

PAOK Thessaloniki Out of FIBA Europe League

As a result of PAOK Thessaloniki’s non-appearance in Ankara, Turkey to play their scheduled FIBA Europe League Game with Turk Telekom, FIBA Europe accepts PAOK’s withdrawal from the competition.
