|Asjha Jones put Rivas Ecopolis on her back all the way to the EuroLeague Women Final|
Rivas Ecopolis have announced that EuroLeague Women Final Eight MVP Asjha Jones and Spanish veterans Elisa Aguilar and Amaya Valdemoro will not return for next season.
Jones was the key player in the team's run to the title game in Istanbul at the beginning of the month.
Jones' performance for Rivas this season helped her secure a place in the USA's Olympic squad.
She is expected to play for EuroCup Women runners up Kayseri Kaskispor in Turkey next season.
The Madrid outfit said it wasn't able to compete with the offers of other clubs were making for the star trio.
"Rivas Ecopolis has announced that three of its players from last season will now embark on a new career path..." a club statement said.
"Rivas Ecopolis want to take this opportunity to thank the effort and commitment they have worked during their time here, and wish them the best of luck for the future."
Meanwhile, coach Miguel Méndez has signed a one-year contract extension with the team.
Rivas said of the 45-year-old coach: "The club's executives have in this way shown their confidence in a coach that has led the team to second place in Europe this season."
Rivas have also announced that players Clara Bermejo and Vega Gimeno are to return for next season.
Bermejo is the captain and has been with Rivas for four seasons already, but played only 11 games in the highliy successful EuroLeague Women season before picking up an injury.
Valencia native Gimeno was an important player coming off the bench for Rivas at the Final Eight.
