Kibirkstis-VICI have opted to change coaching roles ahead of their inaugural EuroLeague Women season by promoting the legendary Jurgita Streimikyte-Virbickiene into the hot-seat.

It means Tadas Stankevicious will drop to assistant and swap duties with Streimikyte-Virbickiene, who is one of the most experienced players in the history of the competition, with no fewer than 14 seasons under her belt.

One of the leading all-time scorers, the Lithuanian retired four years ago and took up coaching, spending three seasons with VICI Aistes Kaunas and last year in EuroCup Women as an assistant for Kibirkstis.

She was also the assistant coach of the national U19 team who earlier this summer played on home soil at the FIBA U19 European Championship for Women.

The play-caller will have a core of Lithuanian talent to choose from, after the club confimed the signing of seven players for the new campaign, including veteran Rima Valentiene along with Greta Sniokaite, Vita Kuktiene, Egle Sniokaite, Mante Kvederaviciute, Lina Pikciute and Kristina Alminaite.

Kibirkstis-VICI will play in Group C against Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje, CCC Polkowice, WBC Novi Zagreb, Galatasray, Perfumerias Avenida and ZVVZ USK Prague.
