Career: Bourges (France-LFB, 1999-2004), Pays D'Aix En Provence (France-LFB, 2004-2006), Los Angeles Sparks (USA-WNBA, 2006), Bourges (France-LFB, 2006-11)
One of the best shot-blockers around, Emmeline Ndongue continues to be a real menace in the paint for France and a key component of a strong front-court. There are few players who have spent as much time helping to define the Pierre Vincent era and his ethos. Excellent defensively due to her wingspan and the quick feet she has for her size, the hard-nosed approach to the game by Ndongue means no opponents will take liberties offensively against France. She can also get the job done at the other end of the floor and her rebounding will be essential for the team too. She certainly knows what it takes to win from her time at Bourges and her efforts in Europe were recognised when she was crowned a EuroLeague Women All Star. Only the second player to truly breakthrough from the Bourges academy following in the footsteps of Ilona Korstin. |
