Neptunas guard Martynas Mazeika scored 7 seconds before the end of the game to give his team the winning points for an 89:87-upset against Ukrainian Khimik.
After the first quarter Khimik suprised the home team leading 32:20. However, the game was far from over and Neptunas fought back immediately.
The Lithuanians started their run in the second quarter, hitting 10 unanswered points to move ahead 35:32. Two 3-pointers from Mazeika saw Neptunas take a 58:47 lead, the largest margin of the game.
The 4th quarter was Khimik's turn to reestablish their authority, and center Sergey Lishchuk started to dominate inside, guiding his team to a 77:71 lead in the closing stages of the game.
It was clear that the game would go down to the wire as Netpunas again fought back. Mazeika's shot gave his team with 7 seconds to go gave his team a 2-point margin (89:87) and a last second attemtp to win the game for Khimik by Sredan Djuric came up short.
Lishchuk, a 210 cm center, finished with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks for Khimik.
As well as hitting the winning points, Mazeika had a great all-around game for Neptunas, contributing 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.
