At the beginning of the game both teams were nervous and played run-and-gun style basketball without control. The only one staying cool was Semsettin Bas of Türk Telekom, who scored most of the points during this periond. He finished the game with 20 points.
By the end of the first quarter it was Azovmash's 2.06m center Andriy Botichev who stepped up , scoring two unanswered baskets and fixed the final score at 15:18.
The turning point of the game came at the beginning of the second quarter. Guard Sergey Moskalenko, who was voted MVP after the game, had two steals and a coast-to-coast layup to bring his team ahead for the first time – 26:25 after 13 minutes.
By the end of the first half it was Alexandr Skutyelnik who fixed the score at 36:29.
Azovmash came out very aggressively in the second half and Türk Telekom was struggling in offence. The Turkish team was limited to just 8 third-quarter points. Türk Telekom had also a total of 20 turnovers.
After the third quarter the score was 52:37.
In the fourth quarter Azovmash increased the lead to more than 20 points (69:48) and Türk Telekom was not able to get back into the game.
Botichev was Azovmash's leading scorer with 16 points. Forward Leonid Yaylo had also a superb game with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists.
