BC Kiev moved a step closer to the Superliga play-off final with a comprehensive 109-81 victory over MBC Odessa on Thursday night.
That result sees Kiev move 2-0 ahead in the best-of-five semi-final and they now only need to win one of the remaining three matches to reach the final.
Stanislav Balashov led all scorers with 17 points for Kiev while Sean Colson and Oleg Saltovets, who both scored 16 points, and Olexander Lokhmanchuk and Edmundas Valeiko (13 points apiece) helped themselves to decent returns against a shellshocked Odessa side.
Odessa, who conceded at least 28 points in three of the four quarters, saw Konstantin Galenkin score 13 points and Yevhen Annenkov and Oleh Tkach each weigh in with 10 points.
BC Azovmash are also in pole position to reach the final after they took a 2-0 lead over BC Khimik in their semi-final match-up. Having won the opening contest 91-78, Azovmash secured another convincing victory in the return leg, winning 90-72.
Khimik's Serhiy Lischuk finished as the game's top scorer with his 22-point haul but it was not enough to save his side from defeat.
